I go almost everyday after work. Their cafe con leche and chocolate caliente are excellent. I either have their croquettes or guava pastry both are outstanding. For a quick bite this place is excellent. I have also had their pan con mantequilla which is also excellent. Highly recommend

I've been a loyal customer of this bakery since 2019, ordering at least 4-5 cakes a year. I'm super picky about cake quality, but they consistently deliver, kids cake or adults and different sizes, now they do great kids decor like peppa pigs etc how amazing! The icing is perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, and the vanilla or cream fillings are absolute perfection. I actually drive an hour to pick up their cakes and empanadas their tres leches is a game-changer, even better than Whole Foods! Every staff member I've met has been kind, patient, and provided great service. Highly recommend, even if you're not Spanish – it's my go-to pastry spot! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

This place made me want to go to Cuba love the atmosphere and the coziness of the place. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Oh and duh great coffee and pastries

Ordered a Cuban sandwich. Was Disappointed, but empanadas and croquetas where very good.

In 2026 what a $4 breakfast on the go you are able to get, very friendly staff (cafe con leche , bread and butter)

This place is still awesome - went to grab a quick sandwich and coffee to have with my grandma and the two clerks in front were friendly and efficient. They managed to work with pace and urgency to get the line down while being the only ones in the store. Weekend morning breakfast rush should be better protected so if owners would afford the overhead they should think about investing in an additional person to turn the customers quicker and potentially generate higher profits. Vanilla was a nice touch in the coffee !

This is a very average bakery for Bergenline Avenue. Nothing to go crazy for but at the same time nothing to complain about. Give it a shot, prices are fair and people are awesome. Cuban? Not that sure...more like a mix of Caribbean flavors with a "commercial approach".

UPDATE: THURSDAY, AUGUST 8, 2024, 10:16PM: This was my first time back at Las Cubanitas and the only change I noticed was a ring cake filled with guava and cheese. When I arrived, there were three or four, and by the time I was ready to leave, there was only one left, so you know I bought it! UPDATE: TUESDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2023, 6:44PM. This was my first time back in a few months. The staff is as professional as possible, and it seems like every I visit I see something new to eat. Prices are still reasonable, too. No other changes, that I noticed. UPDATE: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2022: 10:12PM: There are only a few changes I have noticed since my previous update of Saturday, July 30, 2022. First, none of the employees wear face masks anymore. Second, the guava and cheese pastelitos seems to be made differently now. Finally, the employees remain professional and friendly. If there have been any price increases, I could not tell. Then again, I usually order the same things when I visit. UPDATE: SATURDAY, JULY 30, 2022: Although the staff remain very professional and friendly, I wish they would still wear their fave masks. The last time I was here was yesterday, Friday, July 29, 2022. It is conveniently located, especially when I AM running errands or shopping in the area. Although there is no bathroom for customer use, there is usually plenty of seating for customers dining in. This used to be called La Guardia Bakery, and was owned by the same owners of the El Fenix Bakery; I believe the owner of the El Fenix Bakery in Union City, New Jersey, might also own the El Fenix Bakery in West New York, New Jersey, too. Nonetheless, it remains a fine Cuban bakery. The prices seem a little higher to me, but the quality is as good as when it was the La Guardia Bakery. The staff is helpful, professional, and polite, the cafe con leche is some of the BEST in Union City. There are even a few stools and a countertop for indoor dining. I do not know if they have a bathroom for customers, as I have always purchased my foods and beverages to go, and their croquetas, empanadas, and baked breads are as super delicioso as ever. All the staff wear face masks, at least ninety-eight per cent of the time. One time, a gentleman in the back came to the front and was not wearing a face mask. Signs are posted that customers must wear face coverings, but it is not enforced. Most customers do, but some do not.
